Carex Eversheen Ornamental Grasses

Carex Eversheen Ornamental Grasses

At maturity, Carex Eversheen typically grows to a height of around 30cm (12in) and has a spread of around 45cm (18in). It forms a neat clump of narrow, arching leaves that are bright green with a yellow stripe down the centre. The leaves are slightly glossy and have a fine texture, making them ideal for creating contrast with other plants in the garden.

This grass is a slow-growing variety that will take a few years to reach its full height and spread. However, once established, it is very low maintenance and requires very little care. It can tolerate a wide range of growing conditions, including sun or shade, dry or moist soil, and even coastal conditions.

In terms of flowering time, Carex Eversheen produces inconspicuous flowers in late spring or early summer. While the flowers are not particularly showy, they do add interest to the plant and provide a valuable source of nectar for bees and other pollinators.

For best results, plant Carex Eversheen in a position that receives partial to full sun and has well-draining soil. It is also important to ensure that the soil does not become waterlogged, as this can lead to root rot. This grass is relatively drought-tolerant once established, but it will benefit from regular watering during prolonged periods of dry weather.
