Lupinus Gallery Blue 2 Ltr

Lupinus Gallery Blue is a beautiful and popular variety of lupin that is known for its vibrant blue flowers. Here is a description of this plant that is suitable for a UK garden centre website:

Best position: Lupinus Gallery Blue prefers a position in full sun to partial shade in well-drained soil that is rich in organic matter. These plants can grow up to 60cm tall and should be planted with enough space to allow good air circulation. Lupinus Gallery Blue is ideal for borders, cottage gardens and containers.

Flowering time: Lupinus Gallery Blue produces tall spikes of blue flowers that bloom from late spring to early summer. The flowers are highly attractive to bees and other pollinators, making them a great choice for a pollinator-friendly garden. Deadheading the spent blooms can encourage the plant to produce more flowers.

When to feed: Lupinus Gallery Blue will benefit from a balanced fertiliser applied in early spring. A top dressing of well-rotted manure or compost in autumn can also provide nutrients for the plant. Avoid over-fertilising the plant as it can lead to leggy growth and weak stems.

When to prune: Lupinus Gallery Blue does not require regular pruning, but you can deadhead spent blooms and remove any damaged leaves or stems to promote healthy growth. If the plant becomes leggy or overcrowded, you can cut it back by up to half its height in the autumn to promote bushy growth.
